WINTER CARE NEEDED – FREEZING RAIN WARNING
South western Ontario is in the midst of receiving yet another storm event. A low pressure system tracking towards SW Ontario is going to bring a variety of precipitation. Initially we will see snow this afternoon which will transition to freezing rain early this evening. For a period of time the freezing rain will persist and then taper to a rain/drizzle. Temperature will not be as cold as we have felt the last several weeks, it will be hovering just below the freezing point. Depending where your location is you may see one or different types of precipitation.
Please take extra care when you are walking or driving today and tonight.
All our staff are ready to service you, depending upon the type of precipitation you will receive.
· Should it be primarily snow; we will be clearing the snow by opening up the major thruways and access point for vehicle traffic and emergency vehicles
· Freezing rain; will going through your site by applying ice melting product to the walkways and thruways/parking lots.
· Snow switching to freezing rain; we will be clearing the snow on your site and following up with a salt vehicle applying ice melting product to your thruways/parking lots and walkway crews will be apply product to your walks.
Thruways and parking lots:
All our plows vehicles and extra equipment for events like this are scheduled to be out just after midnight to open up and make your thruways assessable. Given the amount of accumulation we are going to receive, this storm event will take more time to clear. We will be circling back throughout the day tomorrow and once the storm has ceased, your site will be cleared throughout the day and into the night on Wednesday. Thursday is a day where we will be paying closer attention to detail, clearing visitor parking and other details as per your contract.
Snow Relocation Services:
Should your site require relocating or hauling of snow, we will contact you and receive approvals prior to completing the work.
All our walkway crews are scheduled to be out early in the morning around 3am Wednesday. Our main focus for the morning and throughout the day will be to make sure the main pedestrian areas are assessable; walkways that are not main pedestrian entrances will be cleared once the storm has ceased.
If you are going out tonight, please be careful, don’t expect an easy drive, be safe and allow for extra time.
Your Garden Grove Snow Team.
